The Purpose of e-pamphlets
Thomas Paine is often regarded as the Father of the American Revolution for his pamphlets advocating independence from Great Britain. In the spirit of Thomas Paine and his most notable pamphlet, Common Sense, these e-pamphlets are offered to provide insightful perspectives into contemporary issues of national importance. Though unlike their predecessors, these e-pamphlets allow electronic publication and transmission of text, video, audio, and images, their purpose is the same: to lay bare core issues and a methodology to understand and resolve them and to do so in a manner intelligible to all.
Understanding and Overcoming the Unhealthy Motivations of Liberals
In general, low self-esteem and a lack of self-love drive the ideology of liberals. It is the reason their political philosophy is that equality is to be valued more than freedom. They hold this nonsensical position because psychology trumps philosophy. When an individual’s core human needs are unmet, that person is unhealthy, non-rational and potentially a danger to self and others.
The actions and statements of liberals are understandable with an awareness of the common characteristics of those with a low sense of self. Recognizing one’s psychological needs is the first step in growing healthier...and in preventing the unhealthy from damaging the country.
This e-pamphlet presents the Theory of Unhealthy Motivations of Liberals, demonstrates its explanatory power, provides an inductive proof, makes predictions based on the theory, describes what it takes to prove the theory false, and—assuming the theory is true—presents actions that can be taken to mitigate and reverse the damage of liberalism.
Embraceable Comprehensive Immigration Reform
With the April 2010 passage of the Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 updated via HB2162, protests against the law, boycotts against and buycotts for Arizona, leading politicians arguing both for and against the law, movements in more than a dozen other states to enact similar laws, polls showing a significant majority of Americans supporting Arizona’s law, a White House visit by Mexico's President Felipe Calderon who publicly railed against the law, and a Senate proposal for comprehensive immigration reform that was hailed by President Obama as a “promising, bipartisan framework” before he forced its shelving; the debate over immigration reform will continue through the 2010 elections.
There is a path to developing comprehensive immigration reform legislation that would be embraced by the American people. That path involves recognizing and honoring American priorities.
This e-pamphlet identifies American priorities germane to this issue and key aspects of comprehensive immigration reform to be addressed. It then presents a framework that resolves key reform issues while honoring American priorities and proposes first steps to take in implementing the framework. Finally, it addresses concerns some may have about the framework.
Understanding Tea Parties
This e-pamphlet addresses the questions:
o What is the nature of a Tea Party environment?
o Who attends Tea Parties?
o Why are they celebrated, denigrated, and often misunderstood?
o How can Tea Partiers be both jovial and angry?
o Why is it that, despite their anger, it is impossible for Tea Partiers to be violent?
This e-pamphlet, and an associated linked page of 90 images taken at the April 15, 2010 Tea Parties in Washington DC, enable the viewer to gain a deep understanding of this uniquely American phenomenon. If you read the e-pamphlet’s perceptive analysis and view the included images and videos, you will have an opportunity to experience, secondhand, the joy of tea parties.
